The original building designed by Civitects was conceived to accommodate future additions. This project consisted of construction of a bathhouse with changing and toilet facilities, a staff building with concession, firstaid and toilet facilities, and a swimming pool with 3 lanes and a zero-depth entry water feature zone.
Supported by an overwhelmingly enthusiastic community in need of space for youth and family activities, this facility revolved around the concept that growth would happen quickly and space requirements would rapidly expand. Planned to be a full service YMCA, the programming included a swimming pool, gymnasium, wellness, center, climbing wall, aerobics rooms, computer room, meeting room, youth room, child care facilities, administration, skate park and walking trails.
Natural light filters into the interior of the building through a spinal corridor along which program spaces are organized for easy user navigation. Judicious placement of exterior and interior windows provides a clear sense of openness fostering social connection among visitors.

This project includes expansion of the existing facility’s venues to accommodate two additional locker rooms with steam and sauna rooms in each as well as new Multi-Purpose Room and General Exercise Room.
The original building designed by Civitects was conceived to accommodate future additions. This project included doubling the size of the Gym, addition of a mezzanine track and installation of a 3 stop elevator.
This building is located behind home plate for maximum visibility by the press and announcers of baseball games played primarily by the Cape Cod Summer League’s Wareham Gatemen. The facility also includes an observation deck for scounts and concession space for fundraising.
