Student Accessibility Services Office Suite Renovation

Bridgewater State University

The new Student Accessibility Services Office Suite located within the Rondileau Student Union at Bridgewater State University provides dedicated space for individuals seeking academic support. Previously located as a smaller sub-space within the campus library, the Student Accessibility Services was rapidly out growing their space and in need of a more functional environment to provide students with the best experience possble. The availability of an existing space in the student union proved to be the perfect relocation, gaining more space for the program as well as situating SAS to a more centralized location on campus.

In addition to the suite, Civitects also renovated ajdacent toilet rooms. The existing women`s toilet room and powder room were converted into men`s, women`s, and gender-inclusive toilet rooms.

This space provides technical training programs intended to prepare individuals for jobs in the construction, deployment, operations and maintenance of offshore wind farms. Programmatic spaces include a survival training tank, repair shops, classrooms, office spaces and a cafeteria.

An above ground pool was also installed and simulates the experience of working conditions while in the water. An overhead gantry crane above the pool lowers sea vessels into the water giving trainees an understanding of how to implement proper safety protocols during an emergency. A working-at-heights tower was erected within the building to train delegates on how to properly scale
a wind turbine.
