The original building designed by Civitects was conceived to accommodate future additions. This project included doubling the size of the Gym, addition of a mezzanine track and installation of a 3 stop elevator.
This building is located behind home plate for maximum visibility by the press and announcers of baseball games played primarily by the Cape Cod Summer League’s Wareham Gatemen. The facility also includes an observation deck for scounts and concession space for fundraising.
Designed for future additions, Phase I includes a wellness center, gymnasium, locker rooms, childwatch, meeting room, and an afterschool/ multipurpose room. Consistent with the inclusive nature of YMCA’s mission, this facility is intended to serve not only the needs of the Industrial Park businesses, but also of nearby neighborhoods.
The project was Phase I of a multi-phased program to upgrade the MMA athletic facilities. Overused natural turf fields have been converted to synthetic turf fields which are used sometimes almost around the clock for multiple sports.
This project included construction of a new Press Box addition to the third floor of the existing gymnasium. Also included are renovations to create an adjacent cardio area and a new vertical platform lift.
